BREAKING: Dasuki's case takes new dimension

– Former NSA, Sambo Dasuki’s court case has been
adjourned to October 5th, 2016
– The 19-count charge which includes; money
laundering and criminal breach of trust to the tune
of N13.5billion is currently in the Federal High
Court, Abuja.
– The Nigerian courts are currently on a yearly
vacation
Former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo
Dasuki has been granted a slight repreive today as the
court case against him has been adjourned.
The trial of the former (NSA), Sambo Dasuki and
others, for a N13.5billion money laundering charge has
been adjourned to October 5th.
The trial was adjourned to the October 5th giving
Sambo Dasuki a reprieve of about two months. The
trial could not go on today following the commencement
of the yearly vacation of the courts in Nigeria. The new
date was, however, agreed upon following deliberation
among representatives of counsels to the defendants and
subsequent ratification by the court.
Federal High Courts in Nigeria, will from today,
proceed on their annual long vacation. In a circular by
the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court Abuja,
Mr Emmanuel Gako, the vacation will end on
September 9.
The others involved in the case are: former director of
finance and administration, office of the national
security adviser, Shuaibu Salisu; former general
manager, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
(NNPC), Aminu Babakusa and two firms: Acacia
Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital
Limited.
They are facing a 19-count charge which includes;
money laundering and criminal breach of trust to the
tune of N13, 570billion before the High Court of the
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) sitting in Maitama.
Meanwhile, in connection with the Dasuki case, former
minister of defence, Musiliu Obanikoro is presently
being investigated by EFCC alongside his sons over
their alleged collection of N4.7billion from embattled
former national security adviser (NSA) Colonel Sambo
Dasuki (rtd), since video evidence condemning him
was released.
